Studio 16: Farnoosh Moshiri's Creative Writing Studio
Farnoosh Moshiri has offered creative writing workshops at Syracuse University, University of
Houston campuses, Gemini Ink - San Antonio, Leisure Learning Institute, Writers in
the Schools Program, Diverse Works, and Inprint Workshops. She began her studio workshops in the 1990s in her Dunlavy studio.
Some of the writers of that generation are now published and continue writing
as serious literary novelists. After teaching creative writing at Syracuse University,
Farnoosh returned to Houston and resumed her studio workshops, now located in the
Museum District. Studio 16 is a small and highly competitive creative writing workshop
open to writers who need to work with a mentor and mature workshop members.
- Creative Writing Workshops:
Farnoosh Moshiri offers introductory, intermediate, and advanced creative
writing workshops in her Houston studio, Studio 16, located in the Richmond/Montrose area.
The workshops are offered every summer (starting in May or June) with limited enrollment. Please check this site for announcements of the start dates for the next workshops.
The requirements of the Introductory Workshop are enthusiasm and discipline.
For the Intermediate and Advanced Workshops, in addition to enthusiasm and discipline, a work-in progress is required. Both Fiction and non-fiction writers are welcome.
- Manuscript Evaluations for New and Experienced Writers:
Farnoosh offers honest and detailed evaluation of your novel, short story collection, or memoir manuscript. Her critique of your work will be sensitive and professional with technical suggestions. She also offers
advice on marketing strategies.
